Edna speaks at a number of events up and down the country throughout the year.

On Thursday 6th May, 2010 she attended the 'Gift of Years – Growing Old Gracefully'conference organised jointly by the Growing Old Grace-fully Project and Caritas Social Action Network (CSAN) at The Oxford Place Centre, Leeds on 6th May 2010 from 10am until 3.30pm. It was part of an on-going series of conferences to promote action on issues of ageing and the response of the church community.

The purpose of the day was to inspire participants with a new vision and to learn from examples of best practice within the Catholic community in the care of older people. The main themes of the day focussed upon issues of social care that affect the quality of life of older people, practical responses to older people’s care and addressing their spiritual needs and the role of Church organisations and parishes in promoting and creating change.

The event included a keynote speech by Professor Graham Mulley (Dept of Medicine for the Elderly, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust) on 'Myths about Ageing'. Professor Mulley, who is the current President of the British Geriatrics Society, shared some of his vast experience in the field of care for older people, bearing in mind considerations of faith and the whole person.

During lunch there was an opportunity to view the DVD 'It's Still Me, Lord…' on spirituality and dementia.

Please get in touch if you would like to hear her speak.
